Xandros 3.0.2 OCE Desktop
Here's my Xandros Desktop.
I know it's a bit generic. I've never really personalized it since I only used it for screenshot purposes and to check if it's appropriate for my day to day activities.
Well, I did hit some snags, but that's reserved for another page. Right now, I would like to show you something....
Take note of my Gaim instant messenger client.... hehehe!
If you've been using Xandros for quite some time, you'll know that Xandros repositories doesn't include Gaim instant messenger, just Kompete. But Kompete doesn't really work well with MSN and Google Talk so I decided to trash it and try searching for a solution.
Eversince I installed Linux, I've been using Gaim to communicate with friends, share chizms, crack jokes, etc.
So I figured that since Xandros is Debian based, I checked if I could change /etc/apt/sources.list and point it to either Debian or Ubuntu repositories and see if I can apt-get Gaim.
I don't know if I'm violating Xandros Terms and Conditions but I really wanted Gaim, so I modified it.
And Wa-La!
Gaim installed and running! Here's the screenshot of my sources.list pointing to non-Xandros repositories.
And below's the complete code so those who need it could just copy and paste, just make sure you create a backup of your original file.
Also take note that this is not supported by Xandros, Debian, and Ubuntu, so if anything happens..... you're fucked!
But for the record, I've been using this source downloading anything using apt-get without any problems for 2 months. If you like it, then go ahead and enjoy it!
Goodluck!

FYI
I've been using Xandros to surf to porn sites, crack sites, warez sites, hack sites, and other spyware/trojan haven sites.
Guess what? No Spywares!
<sarcasm> "Really" </sarcasm>
